Tuesday, August 18th, 12:30 - 3:00pm
Wednesday, August 19th, 8:30am - 12:00pm

As a recently-appointed Assistant Superintendent, Director, District Principal, you have the privilege and responsibility of working in many contexts.  From walking alongside your District's educational leaders to transform learning, to serving as a corporate executive to your Board of Education, your roles and responsibilities are vast and complex.  The two half days of online learning will be interactive and designed to promote collaboration with colleagues by having each participant explore their leadership "Presence" in four of the seven British Columbia School Superintendents Association (BCSSA) Dimensions of Practice:

  • Leadership and District Culture
  • Policy and Governance
  • Communications and Community Relations
  • Leading Learning

Self awareness of balance and wellness, professionally and personally, will be embedded throughout each day's learning sequence.  We are excited to come alongside you to broaden your collegial network, deepen your understanding of governance, and bring clarity to your multi-faceted role of District leadership.

On Wednesday, August 19th from 11:00am - 12:00pm there will be an introduction to the Ministry of Education and their roles presented by Scott MacDonald, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education, and his team
