BCSSA New Member Sessions

Organizational Leadership through a People and Culture Lens
with Janet Stewart

Strong organizational leadership requires awareness, knowledge and appreciation of the complex nature of interpersonal interactions, organizational culture and the political landscape within which our work takes place. In this session, these three foundational elements will be defined and new viewpoints through which people and culture management can be experienced will be discussed. Bring your curiosity and questions about human resource management practices with you to the session to add to the dialogue!

After 30 years in the BC K-12 sector, Janet is now a leadership coach and consultant working with a variety of organizations across Canada. She is most often called upon to support and present on topics related to organizational dynamics, respectful workplace, conflict resolution, and diversity hiring. She is a recently certified coach with the International Coaching Federation and, after completing training at the Justice Institute of BC in 2021, she received her Qualified Mediator designation from the ADR Institute of Canada. Her book Hiring Well: Building Strong Selection Practices in K-12 was published in April 2021.
