The Spirit of Leadership on the World Stage: Global Leadership Competencies
Presented by Jordan Tinney, Leadership Consultant
Date: Wednesday, August 16th from 1:00pm to 3:30pm
Location: Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Kananaskis Room
There is plenty to be proud of in BC and our work on The Spirit of Leadership has been influenced by global partners. This series shares our learnings in three parts all aligning with the BCSSA Summer, Fall, and Spring conferences. Participants may take part in any one session, as each will stand on its own, but the overall themes will be: Contextual Literacy and Governance, Leadership by influence not authority, and Accelerating Change through the Middle (focus on relationships). This August session will introduce the Series, beginning with Contextual Literacy and Governance. Participants should come prepared for content, and plenty of interaction with colleagues.
Over the past several years BC has been highlighted by various educational leadership groups/individuals/publications around the globe. One such group is the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) out of Qatar. Through their work, WISE has published case studies from around the globe on the leadership we need. BC has been part of those case studies which have also been presented to the United Nations last year, and will again this year. This BCSSA Leadership Series will focus on what we know about exemplar case studies from around the globe in leadership for transformation and how that work aligns with The Spirit of Leadership.
There is no charge for this session but registration is required.*
